Welcome to my web site. My name is Caitlain, though many like to call me Cathy.

I am a 22 year old female, currently living in southern Florida, near the fantastic resort known as South Beach (Miami). I was raised mainly in Tennessee, and moved down here with my girlfriend in early 2005. Besides the occasional hurricane, Florida is generally an awesome place (politics aside).

I attended high school in the Nashville, Tennessee area, graduating 7th in a class of 258. I was always in advanced classes, maintained a perfect A average (I graduated with a GPA of 4.58), and even had the chance to graduate a year early. I elected to remain in school to graduate with the friends I had made over the previous 5 years. I can speak three languages, read three more, and am an avid listener of jazz, new-age, dance, and classical music, primarily from the early 20th Century. I have a first degree black belt in TaeKwonDo, play tennis, swim, and rollerblade. And I love to just lay out on the beach and let the sun and wind caress my body! What an awesome feeling! I am also an avid reader, and love to read about the history and philosophy of sex and sexuality.

I went into college intending to major in Business Administration, and had the dream of going to graduate school and earning a degree in International Business. I had planned to travel the planet experiencing new things, new cultures, new ways of looking at life. Something happened along the way, however, and I have now switched my major to Psychology. It is my desire to continue on and obtain graduate degrees in sexual psychology, and I'd love to be able to earn a PhD from the famed Kinsey Institute at the University of Indiana.

I have two others jobs in addition to maintaining this web site. Besides this site, I work as a dancer (or stripper, if you prefer that term) at an upscale club in the Miami area. For obvious reasons, I can't say where. The job pays for my tuition, two cars, an apartment, and just about anything else I want in life right now. Combined with my third job, I make enough to have a significant investment portfolio to help take care of my future. My third job has to remain a secret, largely because it is mutually incompatible with my job as a dancer. My boss on the third job doesn't know that I take my clothes off for a living. Not that he wouldn't approve of it, just there are some contractual issues that preclude certain knowledge from being passed from one side to the other. This is why you will not see what I look like. I cannot show my face without compromising some things I've been working on that are near and dear to me at this point in my life.

I am also bisexual. I discovered this quite by accident on New Year's Eve when I was 15. The night that happened was a watershed moment for me - one that defines my very being. Unlike many adolescents, I embraced what most of our society would perceive as my 'deviance.' Perhaps more so than I should have, but that is irrelevant at this point. As a result of my bisexuality, I have very strong opinions about how adolescents deal with gender identity and sexual orientation issues as they grow up. You'll see that in my writing here on CC.

My concept of sex and sexuality derives from my experiences growing up, of course, just like almost everyone else. While many people grow up with sex being a "secretive" thing, I was never shy about my sexuality. I didn't sleep around in HS, and had steady boyfriends, but I did have sex for the first time when I was 14. It was safe sex, it was good sex, and it did not destroy the relationship I had with my then boyfriend. Right now, I am in a relationship with another woman. We've been an "official" couple since May of 2005, though we've been very good friends since that New Years' Eve in 2000.

So you can see that I have been sexually active since my early adolescence. This, combined with my experiences growing up, and vast numbers of discussions with others of my generation have given me a wealth of knowledge about sex and sexuality as seen through the eyes of teenagers. What I've found is disturbing at best. Many don't have even the most basic concept of what sex is and how it should be dealt with. I have therefore developed this site in an attempt to bridge the gap between what teens know, what they should know, and the useless drivel they are fed in much of our nation's high schools these days under the guise of "sex education."

You may disagree with with how I view sex - on religious, moral, or ethical grounds, and that is fine. But the information I've provided here is free of moralistic or other judgmental bias. It is accurate, relevant information on sexuality issues being faced by teens and young adults today. And that is my primary purpose at this point in my life.

What certifications or credentials do I have to be the author of such a web site, and the purveyor of sex information to anyone? I have no official credentials (yet), but I do have the sexual experiences that life has provided me over the past nine years, and the collective experiences of those that I've shared high school, college, and online time and anecdotes with. In short - I've been there, so I can speak from experience!
